ASU Mid-South has many great scholarship opportunities, and our Foundation is working with community groups and individuals to make even more awards available.
The College offers a variety of scholarships for students of all ages. Local individuals, companies, agencies, churches and schools/reunion committees contribute greatly to the effort.
A. B. Smith Non-Traditional Student Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students 24 years of age or older that are employed for a minimum of 20 hours per week. These students must also have completed a minimum of twelve (12) college credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.5. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. Up to 5 awards per semester – $500 each
Charles Garland Stokes Endowed Scholarship for Aviation Maintenance
This scholarship is in memory of Charles Garland Stokes, an agriculture aviator. The scholarship provides awards to new or currently enrolled students in ASU Mid-South’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program who demonstrate unmet financial need. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books, and/or tools specifically required for the program. 2 award per semester – $500 each
Crittenden County Board of Realtors/Ralph W. Sloan Memorial Scholarship
The Crittenden County Board of Realtors, in partnership with Time Warner Cable, has established this scholarship to provide financial assistance to Crittenden County high school graduates who plan to further their education in the areas of business, real estate, or law, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
David Brennan Ray Memorial ‘Sunshine’ Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA and who are enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. Preference will be given to students with disabilities. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $300 each
Dr. Glen Fenter “Working for the Future” Scholarship
This scholarship will provide $1000 awards to new or currently enrolled students at ASU Mid-South. Designed to provide financial assistance to students who are currently employed and who are parents living at home with their children, this scholarship addresses those who work to barely get by and whose only hope to get ahead is education. Students must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credit hours and maintain a college GPA of 2.5 or better. They must be employed for a minimum of 20 hours per week. They should also be parents living in the home with their children. Up to 5 awards per semester – $1000 each
Grover Lloyd Agricultural Aviation Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum GPA of 2.75 that are enrolled full-time (15-18 credit hours) in the Aviation Maintenance, Process Technology or Diesel Technology programs. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Jimmie C. Barham Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students who maintain a 3.0 GPA and are involved in their community. These awards are designed to provide financial assistance to non-traditional students that are at least 25 years of age. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
John Gammon, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA. Applicants must be enrolled in at least nine (9) credit hours and demonstrate a strong motivation for success, in college, and in life. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Marvin Steele Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a high school or college GPA of 3.0, enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours, and seeking a degree in business. Preference will be given to students who currently own or operate a business, plan to become entrepreneurs, or have a strong record of business related courses. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Mary and John P. Wilson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to full-time students with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and under 24 years of age at the beginning of the semester in which the award is being sought. The award may be used for tuition, fees, and/or books. 2 awards per semester – $500 each
Molly Whistle Paudert Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA. The applicant must be a single or working parent enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per semester. The funds from this scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, and/or books. 3 awards per semester – $500 each
Phillip M. Brick Memorial Athletic Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to Mid-South Community College student athletes actively participating in an ASU Mid-South sanctioned athletic program. The students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books.
1 award per semester – $500 each
Reed C. and Frank G. Fogleman Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA. The applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours per semester, be a resident of Crittenden County, AR and seeking a degree or certification in nursing or other medically related field. Preference will be given to applicants 24 years of age and older. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Roberta Jackson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a 3.0 GPA. The awards are designed to provide financial assistance to non-traditional students (age 25 or older) living in Crittenden County. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Rosewood United Methodist Church Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA and enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester. The applicant must be involved in community service through church, school, or other civic organizations as approved by the ASU Mid-South scholarship committee. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Roy L. Gray Working Man Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students who maintain a 2.50 GPA. The applicant must be a parent, currently employed, and have received a General Education Degree (GED) from ASU Mid-South. Preference will be given to fathers with children in the home. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Sean Coulter and Jennifer Coulter Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and seeking a degree in computer graphics or media. The applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books.
2 awards per semester – $250 each
Southland Park Gaming and Racing Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA and enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours. This scholarship is also designed to assist the students enrolled at ASU Mid-South who are employed at Southland or are dependents of Southland employees.
5 awards per semester – $500 each
Verneil and A.L. Reed Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Adkison Arnold Family Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to non-traditional students, 30 years of age or older, with a minimum GPA of 2.75. The applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 2 awards per semester – $250 each
Anthony Bennett Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to non-traditional students, 25 years of age or older, that have a cumulative high school or college GPA of 2.75 and are enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. This scholarship is designed to help meet the textbook needs of qualified applicants. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Arkansas Greyhound Association Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students who are Arkansas residents with a minimum GPA of 2.75 who are enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 2 awards per semester – $500 each
ASU Mid-South Working Student Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students that have a minimum 3.0 GPA in at least fifteen (15) credit hours at ASU Mid-South. This scholarship is designed to assist award-seeking students that are employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Bessie Dobbs Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students seeking a degree or certification in their chosen field. The applicants must be enrolled as a full time student with a cumulative GPA of 2.75. The funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $750 each
Brenda Gail Ask Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA. Applicants must be pursuing a career in the field of education and be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Bryant Lindsey Memorial Textbook Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA who are enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. This scholarship is designed to help meet the textbook needs of qualified applicants. 1 award per semester – $150 each
Charley Bartholomew Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students that maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA and who are enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. Only applicants seeking a certificate or degree in Diesel Maintenance, Advanced Manufacturing, or Aviation Maintenance Technology qualify for this scholarship. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Cheryl Cox Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides an award in the Spring semester only to a second year student seeking a career in elementary education who is already enrolled in the ASU Teaching Program. Student must have minimum 2.70 GPA and enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours. 1 award per year- Spring semester – $500 each
Crittenden County Farm Bureau Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a 3.0 GPA, who are enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours at ASU Mid-South, and are residents of Crittenden County. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students who achieve academic success. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 2 awards per semester – $600 each
Crittenden Emergency Medical Ambulance Service Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who are seeking certification in the EMT-Basic program. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and must provide a letter of recommendation from a member of the police and/or fire departments, an employer, or a former teacher. Applicant must also be a resident of either Crittenden County Arkansas or the city of Hughes, Arkansas. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Crittenden National Bank Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students that have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students who are award seeking, and can produce documentation of their involvement in community service activities. Funds from this award may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
David Jacob Herren Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards for students with a 2.75 GPA, seeking a certificate or degree in Diesel Maintenance, Advanced Manufacturing or Aviation Maintenance Technology. The applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Dorothy Gautreaux Memorial Scholarship for Leadership
This scholarship provides awards to students who exemplify proven leadership ability within their community, school, or church. An additional requirement for this award will be a minimum of ten (10) hours of community service per semester of enrollment at ASU Mid-South. Awardees must maintain a 2.75 GPA and enroll for a minimum of nine (9) credit hours each semester that the award is sought. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Doyne & Kathleen Dodd KWEM Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is primarily design to assist students seeking an AAS degree in Digital Media to help meet their educational needs and can be applied toward tuition, fees, and/or books. In the event no student in the Digital Media program qualifies for the scholarship, the donors request that the scholarship be awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need. Student must maintain 2.5 GPA and be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Elizabeth Kennedy-Harkins Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students that maintain a 2.75 GPA, and who are seeking a degree in an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Arts in Teaching program. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Felker Family Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students seeking a degree in Education and who are enrolled in the ASU Mid-South Associate of Arts in Teaching program. The applicants must have a minimum of 2.75 cumulative high school or college GPA. The funds from this scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books. 1 award per semester – $350 each
Ford Turner Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. The awards may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $600 each
Former Crittenden County Pink Ladies Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to help meet the educational needs of students who demonstrate financial need and are seeking a degree in nursing. These funds can be applied toward tuition, fees, and/or books. The student must have a minimum cumulative high school or college GPA of 2.75 and must be seeking a degree in nursing and be enrolled for a minimum or nine (9) hours. 2 awards per semester – $500 each
G. A. Robinson, III. Aviation Maintenance Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to ASU Mid-South students who are enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance program. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. These awards may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
The Gene Haas Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards for ASU Mid-South students who are enrolled in the Machining pathway. Preference will be given to students who have completed two-years in the ASU Mid-South Secondary Technical Center. Students must have a minimum high school GPA or GED equivalent of 2.5 and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours. 3 awards per semester – $750 each
Greyhound Breeders of Arkansas Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to Arkansas residents, with a minimum GPA of 2.75, enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 2 awards per semester – $500 each
Goldsby Athletic Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to enrolled students actively participating in an ASU Mid-South sanctioned athletic program. Award amounts will be determined by the director of ASU Athletic Department and will be based on the number of successfully completed credit hours during the semester for which the award is sought. Applicants must have a minimum high school or college GPA of 2.5 and must be enrolled as a full-time student.
Harold Patterson Memorial Athletic Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to full-time student-athletes with a minimum GPA of 2.5, who are actively participating in an ASU Mid-South sanctioned athletic program. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Hattie M. Kemp Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are seeking a degree in education. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Isabelle Kate and Beau Franklin Fenter Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum 2.75 GPA who are seeking a career in the Allied Health field of study. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Jimmie Ladd Richardson Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The scholarship is designed to assist part-time students enrolled in a maximum of eleven (11) credit hours. Applicants with a physical disability may be given special consideration. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $350 each

This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Applicants must be a resident of Crittenden County, Arkansas and be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Mac D. Holmes Family Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students seeking certification in the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT) program. The applicant must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of Crittenden County Arkansas. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Marcis & Associates Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students enrolled in the ASU Mid-South Allied Health program. The applicants must be degree seeking, enrolled in a minimum of eight (8) credit hours, with a cumulative high school or college GPA of 2.75. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy curriculum. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 2 awards per semester – $600 each
Marty and W. E. ‘Buddy’ Catt Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students seeking certification in the manufacturing or maintenance curriculum. These students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Mary Meux Toney Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a 3.0 GPA and enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
May and Charlie Wah Community Service Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students who exemplify the spirit of community involvement and volunteerism and can provide documentation to verify their service in civic organizations, or other charitable activities. The applicant must maintain a GPA of 2.5 and enroll in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours per semester. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $300 each
Muriel & Don Threm, Sr. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students seeking an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Applied Science degree. The applicants for this award must have a 2.85 cumulative high school or college GPA, must be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours. These funds can be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $200 each
Paul E. Gray Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards for students with a GPA of 2.75, and seeking a certificate or degree in Diesel Maintenance, Advanced Manufacturing or Aviation Maintenance Technology. The student must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 2 awards per semester – $250 each
Reverend and Mrs. Zilmon E. Barr Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students that maintain a 3.0 GPA. This scholarship is awarded each fall and spring semester as funds are available. It is designed to provide financial assistance to students that are single parents planning to transfer to a nursing program. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Robert Bosch Tool Corporation Technical Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to graduating high school students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Preference will be given to those students who have completed a two-year cycle in the Technical Center program and plan to continue in their pathway at ASU Mid-South. Qualifications include membership in the SkillsUSA program. Up to 5 awards per semester – $250 each
Robert Crittenden Chapter NSDAR Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students that have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and are residents of Crittenden County. This scholarship was designed to provide financial assistance to students who achieve academic success and are involved in community service. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Sam G. Ashworth Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students maintaining a 2.50 overall GPA. Preference will be given to residents of Hughes, Arkansas. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Sanders Family Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students seeking a degree in Law Enforcement or Crime Scene Investigation, Fire Prevention or EMT Certification with an overall high school or college GPA of 2.75, and must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $500 each
Senator Mike Everett Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students maintaining a 3.0 overall GPA, and enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
ServiceMaster Facilities Maintenance Technical Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for graduating high school students who have completed a two-year cycle in the ASU Mid-South Technical Center program. The students must be seeking a certificate or degree in the program, and must maintain a 2.75 GPA. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
Sorrells Hospitality Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students that are enrolled in the Jeremy M. Jacobs Hospitality Program. The applicants must be degree seeking, and maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA throughout the program to receive funds in successive semesters. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $1000 each
Stephen M. Brick Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with a minimum of 2.75 GPA and pursuing a career as a Pharmacist. The applicant must be enrolled in the Allied Health Pharmacy Technician curriculum and be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $300 each
Todd Allen Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to residents of Crittenden County that have a minimum GPA of 2.50 and are enrolled in the Diesel Maintenance or Welding program at ASU Mid-South. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $375 each
Tommy Gadberry Textbook Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students maintaining a minimum 2.75 GPA. This scholarship is designed to help meet the textbook needs of non-traditional students, 25 years of age or older. 2 awards per semester – $150 each
Upton Family Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to students with an overall GPA of 2.50 and enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, books and/or fees each semester. 1 award per semester – $500 each
West Memphis Quota Club International
This scholarship provides awards to students that maintain a 2.5 GPA. Applicants for this scholarship must be head of household, a resident of Crittenden County, and pursuing a career in the Allied Health field. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
West Memphis Recycling Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to any Crittenden County graduating senior wanting to attend ASU Mid-South. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and enroll for a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 1 award per semester – $250 each
West Memphis Rotary Partners in Education Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to applicants maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and completing at least six (6) credit hours per semester. The applicants must provide documented evidence of community service through school, civic groups, church, or other approved organizations. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 7 awards per semester – $250 each
Willowbend at Marion Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to Crittenden County students enrolled and seeking a certificate in the Allied Health program at ASU Mid-South, and specifically the CNA and/or LPN career path. Preference will be given to those interested in the care of the elderly. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours. These funds may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books. 2 awards per semester – $500 each
This scholarship supports increased access to higher education by providing funds to support the enrollment of qualified high school students from Crittenden and surrounding Arkansas counties in ASU Mid-South courses, which will also be counted as credits toward high school graduation.
The scholarship may be applied to two courses each fall and spring semester for high school juniors and seniors. Students may choose from ASU Mid-South courses approved by their high school principal that will count toward high school graduation requirements.
Equal access to the Goldsby Scholarship will be provided to all students without regard to financial ability. Recipients must reapply for the scholarship each semester.
Requirements
• Be a resident of Crittenden or surrounding counties in Arkansas or be a student attending a public or private high school in Crittenden or surrounding counties in Arkansas.
• Maintain an overall high school GPA of 3.0. Students who have previously completed college courses must have a college GPA of 3.0 as well.
• Present ACT (or equivalent SAT, ASSET or COMPASS) subject area scores in English, reading, and/or math consistent with college-level placement in the subject areas of the course(s) in which they wish to enroll.
Application Process
• Present ACT (or equivalent SAT, ASSET or COMPASS) scores consistent with college level placement. Students enrolling in English or mathematics or courses which have college English or math prerequisites must also have a high school GPA of 3.0 in the related subject area.
• Submit an official copy of high school transcript documenting the required GPA.
• Complete a Goldsby Scholarship Application, which must be signed by the student, his/her parent or legal guardian and turned in to the high school counselor.
