The purpose of the Future Educators’ Club is to promote interest in and knowledge about the teaching profession, as well as to provide fellowship among students, faculty, and community professionals.

Looking for some fun to go with your studies? ASU Mid-South offers a variety of intramural sports and recreational activities for fun and exercise. Recreational opportunities include softball, volleyball, basketball, flag football, disc golf, and ping pong. Depending on your interests, you might compete against fellow ASU Mid-South students, college staff, or students from other colleges in the area.
Not athletically inclined? ASU Mid-South also offers competition in checkers, chess, dominoes, spades, Connect Four, Scrabble, Taboo, and video games.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, is the largest honor society in higher education with 1,285 chapters on college campuses in all 50 of the United States and abroad. More than 3 million students have been inducted since its founding in 1918, with approximately 134,000 students inducted annually. To fulfill our mission, we focus on recognizing and encouraging the academic achievement of two-year college students while providing opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
At ASU Mid-South, Phi Theta Kappa recognizes our students’ academic excellence, opening the door for travel to regional and nation conventions as well as scholarship opportunities around the region and through the nationwide network of funding through the society’s general scholarship application. Like ASU Mid-South as a whole, Beta Epsilon Psi chapter is dedicated to service in our community, including annual projects to help our campus and the West Memphis area.

Putting in the effort to be active in student life through the various student activities can have a great impact on your experience at ASU Mid-South. Participating in campus activities with your fellow students helps you to make friends, find opportunities for leadership, and discover new interests. Other benefits to being involved may include reducing stress, creating new connections, and even better grades and outcomes.

There is usually something going on around campus – celebrations such as Black History Month or Juneteenth, Welcome Week to start the new semester, and Study Day and Advising Day to help you get through final exams, and into the next semester. Show your Greyhound pride by attending Greyhounds’ sports games – basketball, baseball and softball.

The Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for students who are interested in serving as representatives of ASU Mid-South. The Student Ambassador’s primary function is to assist in the recruitment of prospective students and their families by conducting campus tours, attending campus and community events, distributing communications, and sharing the student experience.

Students who are selected to serve as a Student Ambassador will receive a 6-credit hour tuition waiver each semester they serve, ASU Mid-South apparel, and more!

The purpose of Student Government Association is to offer opportunities for members of the Association to share concerns, express opinions, and jointly participate in the solution of problems with other members of the ASU Mid-South community; to serve in an advisory capacity to the administration on behalf of the student body, and to provide and execute approved programs, projects, and events designed to enhance the entire ASU Mid-South community. Sigma Kappa Delta (SKD), the two-year college English Honors Society, has a robust and active chapter on the ASU Mid-South campus. SKD opens the doors of opportunity for its members and facilitates academic, professional, and personal growth. There are more than 140 active chapters across the country, each defined by its location and membership, yet bound by the common goal of promoting excellence in the disciplines of the English language.
To be eligible for ASU Mid-South’s chapter, you must have completed a minimum of one college course (excluding developmental courses) in English language or literature, and have no grade lower than a B. Additionally, your GPA should be a minimum of 3.0, with at least a cumulative total of 12 semester hours completed.
