The ASU Mid-South Adult Education Center offers several FREE College and Career Ready Test Preparation Courses designed to help High School/GED® graduates or adults (18 years or older) succeed on their college and military entrance exams. Check out what we offer:
Accuplacer Ready Course (Online)
The Accuplacer is an untimed, computer-adaptive college admissions assessment that is given in order to determine the best course placement in the areas of Math, English and Reading. It provides students with important information about educational preparation and is a good beginning toward the achievement of academic goals.
Success on this test requires preparation! The Adult Education Center offers a Free ONLINE ACCUPLACER Prep Course. The course will allow you to practice your skills before taking the placement test.
ACT Ready Course (Online)
Every student comes to the ACT with vastly different abilities across many different skills. Unfortunately, most prep programs ignore each student’s unique learning needs.
The Adult Education Center’s Free Online ACT Ready Course provides an adaptive learning experience, which allows students to focus on what they need to know instead of wasting time relearning content they already know.
ASVAB Ready Course (Online)
Before you join the Armed Services, you will need to take a standardized test called the ASVAB—Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. The Exam is designed to help the Military determine your strengths, to determine career placement.
The test measures your knowledge in eight areas:
General Science – Life, earth, space and physical sciences
Arithmetic Reasoning – Ability to solve basic math and word problems
Word Knowledge – Ability to grasp the meaning of words through synonyms
Paragraph Comprehension – Ability to understand written material
Mathematics – Math concepts and applications
Electronics – Electrical current, circuits, devices and electronic systems
Auto and Shop – Car maintenance and repair, and wood and metal shop
Mechanical – Principles of mechanical devices, structural support, properties of materials
The ASVAB is timed and takes about 3½ hours to complete. The Free ASVAB Ready Online Course will allow you to practice in advance, to get familiar with the content and to find any areas you might need to improve on before you take the real exam.
